  3. <hi style=afpcap>Not Darth Vader's interplanetary dreadnought, this black, wedged-shaped flying craft has now become familiar to millions as the Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter. Developed in great secrecy, the F-117 exploits its odd shape to confound enemy radar beams. The Air Force's small fleet of 50-odd "Black Jets" belongs to the 49th Fighter Wing (7th, 8th, 9th Fighter Squadrons) at Holloman AFB, New Mexico.</hi>
